      1. I also agree. I recommend the book of Dean Sundiang.
I read the two books during prebar. You may supplement the book of Atty. Z.
Goodluck to your bar prep! 🙂

      1. Pwede bang easy reading lang. Then more on listening sa lectures? Thanks

Kasi 4th take ko na. Last three takes was more on reading talaga.

      First:
      Assess your study habits.

Yung study habit ng iba might not be effective sayo.

      2nd: Focus
I’m not saying na hindi ka focus. I’ve known few people (grad with flying color) na failed in their first attempt sa bar not because hindi sila matalino or magaling but because yung focus nila unconsciously nawawala na.

I have a friend, hindi ka naman mag dodoubt sa galing niya but ang downside niya since he is cute, he easily get distracted kapag may nagpapapicture sa kanya habang nagrereview siya. He was too friendly and accommodating queries from his co-bar reviewees. So if nagpopoli siya then someone asked for civil, he will help, the second time nagreview siya ng solo then papasok nlang siya if gusto niya ang lecturers and he passed. 2nd time, nagdorm na siya and she passed din.

      3rd: Choose your materials
Golden rule: Stick to your codals.

      4th: Ask your lawyer friends
Ask them what they did when preparing the bar. In my case, i listened to bar topnotchers stories.I also read articles on how to pass the bar.

      5th: Practice how to answer.
      Short answer but complete.
Imagine how many examinees kayo. Improve grammar and use legal words.

      1. 6th: Discipline
Keep yourself on track. 4 or more months are not enough sa review. You need to read a lot and be familiarize yourself sa law. (Dapat kasi you know it by heart kahit ikutin ang tanong, alam mo na yun ang gustong sagot ng examiner) Remember 8 subjects yan.

        7th: stick to your materials.
If may time ka pa, read your materials again, and again and again. Understand why that law was used. Do not memorize except if needed talaga.

        8th: Read news articles everyday.
2 hours might be sufficient. Cut the article then post it on your wall. Write the applicable law (refer to your codal) and practice if that article will come out as bar question, how will you answer it.
        (Again, short but complete answer)

        9th: Dont forget to rest
But not to the point na sobrang rest. Enough rest to boost your mind para bumilis ang pag absorb na babasahin pa, kasi nakakaexhaust talaga ang review or eat your favorite food.

10th: Know the well-settled rules/principles and favorite bar questions
Know what are the frequently bar questions (you may use lex pareto as guidance)

11th: Read cases penned by your chairperson.
Write it down in your notebook for your preweek, yung gist lang
Nota bene: what i did, after i read my materials per subject, pinipili ko na yung gagamitin ko for preweek kasi for sure hindi ko na siya mababasa as a whole.

        12th: PRAY
A lot of prayers. For strength, guidance, focus, good health until you finish the last sunday of the bar.
Reviewing for the bar is exhaustive. At times you will feel weary but dont give up! You will definitely reap what you sow. Discipline talaga sa review.

If this is your 4th take, don’t be harsh to yourself. Treat this coming bar as your first bar exam and aim to top the bar. Believe in yourself. When you begin to doubt, everything will follow.

So to your question as to okay ba if you will listen this time since dati puro ka read, you have to assess yourself first. If ano pa ang dapat mong idagdag at iwasan sa bar prep mo. Im sure you dont want to be wrong again. I have shared what i did and I passed. It might be a help.

        Goodluck! You will make it!

    1. @maria leonora sia, i believe you should first render the service obligation provided in your study leave contract before you will be allowed to avail of another study leave. in case you want to avail of vacation leave without pay, which you will use for the review, the approval is now discretionary upon the head of agency. remember also that you will not be considered on vacation leave “without pay” if you still have available leave credits. it is only after you have consumed all your leave credits that your leave of absence will be considered without pay. say, you were allowed on vacation leave, deducted against your leave credits, then in that days where you no longer have leave credits to cover for the leave of absence, that’s the time that your leave will be considered without pay. still, the decision on whether to allow you to go on leave or not depends on the agency head. the agency head may deny your request in the exigency of service.

best of luck, stay positive! 🙂

  5. @maria leonora sia. I am not against you taking another study leave from your office. But i believe it is best for you to either resign or balance your time between working and reviewing. Baka magkaroon lang ng bad impression ang office mo from you. It is because they might think that you are taking for granted your work and mas priority mo bar exams. Kung ako sayo, iweigh mo ano mas importante. You becoming a lawyer or working?

  7. Share ko lang sa fellow reviewees. If you want LEX PARETO NOTES set and nahihirapan kayo hanapin sa NB, you may buy from CONANAN BOOKSTORE sa may recto malapit sa mcdo near UE. If from province kayo like me, just call them and request na i-ship ang items. Lex pareto set is 1600 (4 books) add lang ng shipping fee depende sa location (they ship thru jrs). Very helpful sila and friendly. Ask for their bank account number where you can deposit your payment. I purchased mine just this afternoon.
