men are slowly becoming extinct in law school because more and more females are born each year than males.so,the ratio of females in enrolling to law school is greater than males.the study of law,although hard,demands more on mental rather than physical excertion thats why kakayanin talaga ng much more dominant{population wise}females.if females have the same physical capability with males baka pati PMA dominahan din nila [in numbers].:)

Male lawyers just go along better with other Male lawyers, you cant kid around with another girl lawyer. They tend to take things too seriously, and there is this looming fear of sexual harassment if thing get too green.
Lastly, there is a rule in economics that applies perfectly here. This rule is called the Rule of Supply and Demand. The lesser male lawyers that make it through law school and finally passing the bar, the more valuable and sought after they become.

Well, I believe that this is an advantage to us men. There are some cases in the study and practice of Law that believe it or not are gender sensitive.

Lastly, there is a rule in economics that applies perfectly here. This rule is called the Rule of Supply and Demand. The lesser male lawyers that make it through law school and finally passing the bar, the more valuable and sought after they become. ?

Hi fred,

In my experience women have an advantage. Male professors tend to take it easy on them (lalo na pag maganda as law student and even as prcaticing lawyers, judges seem to be more considerate.

One of the things I learned in law school is to prettify myself so the prof won’t be as tough on me. I’m not encouraging women law student and lawyers to just be beautiful. Remember the formula is beauty AND brains.

I’ve noticed the same thing in my law school too. My old classmate, Jennifer, just posted on a site about building a successful career as a woman attorney. I love one of her suggestions – “don’t act like a man”. For some reason women who are lawyers tend to act like men who are jerks, wich of course can make them be labeled the B-word. I think there is a way to be assertive without coming off that way. More often than not, men usually try to take the easy route in or out of something. Perhaps I may be wrong, but indeed, women are more meticulous than men. Oh well, wonders never cease.

A name to watch out for in the 2008 bar exam:
Karen Leslie Militante of USC. I figure she’ll be in the top 10 of the Bar for our batch.

Women, even assuming that the mental capacity is the same between men and women, are more responsible students. They fare better in entrance exams and in law school.
