If “amici curiae” means “friends of the court,” is it correct to say that “blawg amici” means “friends of this law blog”? Whether it’s wrong or not, let’s put a face and congratulate, in no particular order, those who contributed to the traffic (the reason why this blog broke down at least three times) and who became lawyers (subject to the taking of lawyer’s oath and signing of the roll of attorneys, two requisites before becoming a full-fledged lawyer) in the process:
Macka (Atty. Allan Reiz C. Macaraig)
Barcrammer (Atty. Rachel Barroso)
Ayemempoy (Atty. Armeen Alain B. Gomez)
Master Jedi (Atty. Jim Villanueva)
lex888 (Atty. Marforth Fua, 8th place)
Weng M. (Atty. Ma. Rowena Falculan-Mari)
Turney (Atty. Grandis Rem T. Manalabe)
Alpha_Mike (Atty. Anthony Lawrence M. Morales)
Barbie’s Sis (Atty. Eddalaine M. Figueroa)
feverish (Atty. Karren Maricris G. Cacabelos)
Koji (Atty. Manolito M. Apostol, Jr.)
einnod .ytta (Atty. Alezandro S. Casabar)
pussycat (Atty. Joselito D. Fernandez)
ggc (Atty. Gissle Gay A. Capacite-Ballais)
kakampi (Atty. Fernand Abella Castro)
tonks (Atty. John Dave G. Vergara)
alyas boy pogi (Atty. Michal L. Gatchalian)
fingershadow (Atty. Marlon G. Fajardo)
rw147 (Atty. Wendy S. Reyes)
Jewris (Atty. Aldrin G. PeƱaflor)
therese (Atty. Maria Yasmin M. Obillos)
tiklo (Atty. John-Christopher Tanjili Mahamud)
plelyn (Atty. Herlyn L. Pasatiempo)
There are so many others who made it, but unless you folks step up and put a face to your “pen names” (let’s hope Bruno does =), we can’t put them here. Please use the comment section below.
To those who didn’t make it, life goes on. I know many many lawyers who didn’t make it the first time, but are great practitioners today. Atty. Fernandez failed in his first take, then ranked No. 1 in his second try. As I mentioned before, hope is always genuine. We hope to pass the bar exams. But people often forget that hope should not be equated with the outcome. If we do that, we’ll most probably be disappointed. With hope comes acceptance. We strive for something and it is hope that keeps our drive burning. We should learn to accept, difficult it may be, whatever comes out of our endeavors. Then we move on from there. It’s now time to prepare for the 2008 exams this September. Let’s not waste the precious time left.

the oath taking was over in 50 minutes including the ceremony. the waiting in line to get our cellphones back was much longer.
the three examiners, who became notorious because of their “unusually strict” checking of test booklets were booed when they were introduced. but when justice azcuna introduced them, nobody booed the three.
the inductees waited for the topnotcher before the ceremony started, the emcee tried to call for her several times to come in front, she showed up at exactly 2 pm
you could see the beaming and proud faces of the inductees and their folks, but most were surprised when marforth was introduced, he’s huge literally. I thinks he is double if not triple my size and i am already a hefty 175 pounder.

hi atty fred,
again and again i continued being glued on this site even after the bar results were posted. parang nkakamiss kc every am and pm, i nvr failed to be enlightened sa mga pangyayari at marami rin ako natututunan sa mga posts.
i pretty much shared the agony of waiting for the results, but after that , iba nmn ang kelangan ko intindihin about my bf..im pretty sure he went euphoric and was on a natural high wen he passed, nag pay off nmn paghihirap nya sa pag seself study. pero now what comes next? what’s life to offer to a new lawyer? from your point of view po wat kind of understanding do i need to do? parang pkiramdam ko po now kc super clueless ako sa profession nyo..hehehe.
