If “amici curiae” means “friends of the court,” is it correct to say that “blawg amici” means “friends of this law blog”? Whether it’s wrong or not, let’s put a face and congratulate, in no particular order, those who contributed to the traffic (the reason why this blog broke down at least three times) and who became lawyers (subject to the taking of lawyer’s oath and signing of the roll of attorneys, two requisites before becoming a full-fledged lawyer) in the process:
Macka (Atty. Allan Reiz C. Macaraig)
Barcrammer (Atty. Rachel Barroso)
Ayemempoy (Atty. Armeen Alain B. Gomez)
Master Jedi (Atty. Jim Villanueva)

There are so many others who made it, but unless you folks step up and put a face to your “pen names” (let’s hope Bruno does =), we can’t put them here. Please use the comment section below.
To those who didn’t make it, life goes on. I know many many lawyers who didn’t make it the first time, but are great practitioners today. Atty. Fernandez failed in his first take, then ranked No. 1 in his second try. As I mentioned before, hope is always genuine. We hope to pass the bar exams. But people often forget that hope should not be equated with the outcome. If we do that, we’ll most probably be disappointed. With hope comes acceptance. We strive for something and it is hope that keeps our drive burning. We should learn to accept, difficult it may be, whatever comes out of our endeavors. Then we move on from there. It’s now time to prepare for the 2008 exams this September. Let’s not waste the precious time left.

Tinkering with internet tools comes with the bonus of better understanding how existing laws apply to the third wave - that of technology, particularly the internet. This is also a great medium to disseminate and discuss ideas across borders, time, color or creed.
It’s an unexplainable feeling. Ganito pala kasaya ang pagpasa sa bar. All of my friends and relatives are very happy for me. My sincere thanks also in this blogsite, it helps me alot (coping with the tensions, posting of updates etc.) during the remaining days of waiting for the results.
Congratulations to the participants on this site that also made it, at least may product na tayo na kasama sa top 10. Sana this coming 2008 bar mas marami pang makapasa at kunin na natin yung no. 1 spot.
To Atty Wally West , brod thanks sa time and effort sa pagreview mo sa akin since April until the day before the first Sunday. Babawi ako sayo.
Koji,
Hehehe ang saya saya noh..
pambawi din ng S.C. sa politicized decision sa neri case ( nyek opinion lang po kasi agree ako sa dissenting opnion ni Chief Justice Puno eh!!) hirap na baka mareprimand or suspindehin… wala yun brod este pañero na pala… credit is still sa iyo sa paghihirap at pagpupuyat…
To All new lawyers,

@ Atty. Fred: Yay! You’re so cool! Thanks a lot! Now, reading the replies has become more convenient.
[Aww... You really listened to my request for 20 replies per thread. Tnx!]
Oh yeah! Lawyers should be updated in the latest trends in technology and internet (not just laws).
Trivia: Do you know that former Rep./Sec. Mike Defensor (who is a lawyer) always have his PSP (Playstation Portable) with him (inside one of his pockets)? I once watched an interview where he revealed things people do not know about him. He said he usually plays his PSP when he is on a trip/flight or when PGMA is not around or is sleeping during flights. At home, he has a PC full of games and he even did a demo play. Haha. I’m quite thrilled when I saw that ‘coz I’m a gamer myself. ^_^
I will not argue with people who thinks videogames are waste of time. My point is, just because someone became a lawyer should not mean that he/she will just devote his whole time with the law and the serious stuffs. Just like Atty. Fred and Sec. Defensor, we should find time for something where we may express our individualities and do the things that make us happy and/or complete.
Yay for all the cool lawyers!
Congratulations to All New Bedan Lawyers! Animo Bedans!
So, does anyone know which are the top performing law schools in the 2007 Philippine BarEx? I’m referring to their passing average in relation to the number of students who took the exam… of course you will not crown (as top 1) a school even if it has a 100% passing rate if they only have 5 students who took the exam.
alpha_mike
hindi ata lawyer si mike defensor…
Oo. Mali yata ang facts ko. [nakakahiya] *sorrry, sorry* [It takes a man to recognize that he committed a mistake] Ignorantia facti excusat. Wahehe.
Anyway, parang lang din gaya sa mga hindi pinalad this year, babangon ako at itutuloy ang laban!
alpha_mike, i don’t think Mike Defensor is lawyer. He has a Masters in public administration though.
alpha_mike
di ka ba pinalad? yup laban lang.. its just a temporary set back.. your down but not out… take ulit (yun kung di ka nga talaga pinalad..)
reviewing for the bar doesnt mean na isolate mo sarili mo.. from time to time dapa may leisure or you need to socialize.. otherwise burn out ka mas mahirap yun mawawalan ka na ng gana sira pa focus mo…
*looks above at the blog entry of Atty. Fred*
Haha. Hehehe. ^_^
Sana lang mag-add ulit ng thread na pwede magconverse ang lawyers at future lawyers even law students or those who have fascination in law. Mas masaya kasi magbasa at magpost kapag ang participants eh from all walks of life.
Soon-to-be lawyer pa lang. Sabi sa rules, dapat mag-take pa muna ako ng oath at pumirma sa roll of attorneys bago maging totoong lawyer na. Hehe.
Haha [nakakahiya]… And I don’t intend to be one.
