Chiz Escudero, Senator: harnessing the power of the internet

February 16, 2007

(If you believe in, and support, Chiz Escudero as a worthy candidate for the Senate, please don’t hesitate to spread the message. You could take it a step further and join Team Chiz, and make sure that Chiz lands where he deserves to be in – - the Senate. Thank you).

Senatorial candidate and House minority leader Francis “Chiz” Escudero is bringing his campaign for a Senate seat to another level.

In cooperation with Yehey.com, he had a chat last Tuesday morning via Yehey.com’s Online Brewing Point, with media representatives and Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the US, Hong Kong, and the Middle East. Escudero’s official website, www.chizescudero.com, was also launched Tuesday.

A take-off from Hillary Rodham Clinton’s interactive website when she successfully ran for the US Senate in 2000, Online Brewing Point makes Escudero the first Filipino senatorial candidate to use live Internet technology to explain his platform of government.

“The Internet is the best way to reach people outside the country and share ideas with them in real time. Through this technology, I hope to hear what is on their minds. I am ready to answer questions they raise and explain my stand on issues relevant to my candidacy,” said Escudero.

Escudero filed his certificate of candidacy with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on January 30. He is running under the Nationalist People’s Coalition, a party in coalition with the United Opposition.

Those interested may access and download detailed information about the youthful senatorial candidate at www.chizescudero.com and www.friendster.com/chizescudero.

    Hi,

Sir Chiz, I’m Jal. I learned you have function with our hotel, Imperial Palace Suites today at 6pm. I just want to express my sincere support in your candidacy. I really want you to win in senatorial. Sayang, umalis sila Tito at Tessie sa line up nyo, wala silang makukuhang boto mula sa amin.

Anyway, I have also a capacity to campaign you using text blasting, in which si Councilor Winnie Castelo ginagamit itong tools ko. If you just wish kung wala ka pang ganitong style (text blasting campaign) just let me know sir, I will help you a lot.

Best regards to you and your family, mabuhay po kayo!

Ma/everyone, I’m sure Sen. Chiz is thankful for all your support. As to your request for work, perhaps this is a matter that is better addressed directly to the office of the good Senator. Good luck.

    Sir:

Saan napunta pala pera namin?

I am simply wondering about the support of Sen. Chiz to the reproductive health bill which is the talk of the town now. I don’t know if the good senator is really personally willing that his children ( and would be children ) be taught by the school about sex and all the abortive gadgets, and enjoy a safe sex even before the marriage, at an early stage, of grade V.

Well maybe the good senator has not thought of the moral implication affecting his personal. I don’t know.

It’s his decision anyway to favor that, since he is the father of his kid/s . If he want’s others to teach them the sex act and the enjoyment of safe sex, it’s alright.

Chiz had always been my idol…. even before coming out in politics, sa UP plang sinubaybayan ko na sya. He’s a nice person Inside and Out.. an ideal leader with conviction. Sana lang di magbago and idealism nya if ever he got the highest position of the land.

Goodluck Chiz….. make me as ur campaign manager here in Cebu… hehehe o kahit alalay lang.
