criminal law coming up this sunday..

My thoughts on the very controversial CA-MERALCO-GSIS scandal. I saw several big shot lawyers (both private and government) on tv and they are unanimous in saying that businessman Francis de Borja must be investigated for trying to bribe Justice Jose Sabio of the CA. That’s Bribery according to them. This is the common notion. Dean Ortega was very careful about this during his lectures. He kept on repeating that the crime of Bribery refers to the act of the receiver NOT the giver. This is the legal notion. hehehe
Let this story inspire the 2008 bar examinees. You are better than the best that this profession has to offer (at least in criminal law). You deserve to pass. =)
