That is the absence of hope.
The power lies in the mind that never quits. And the knowledge that SomeOne Up there is giving you the chance to see miracle unfolds before your very eyes.

Take for instance, our hope for a better government and a more prosperous Philippines. I guess we don’t hope that it will happen before our eyes. While we hope that it will happen, it probably won’t happen in our lifetime. =)
