In previous years:

The University of the Philippines (U.P.) College of Law has announced the holding of the Law Aptitude Examination (LAE) for academic year 2008-2009. The LAE is the entrance exam for the UPLaw.

The LAE is scheduled on 25 November 2007 (Sunday, 7:30 a.m.), with test centers in UP Diliman, UP Cebu, UP Mindanao (Davao City) and UP Baguio.

Anyone planning to enter the U.P. Update (22 January 2008): I heard that the LAE results were released today. Here’s the UNOFFICIAL list, courtesy of Jester (will still have to verify the list tomorrow). Please CROSS-CHECK with the official list posted at the UP College of Law. Please note that the written exam is only the first part of the selection process. 1. Zen, I actually bought that LAE reviewer sa sulit. You may wanna watch this preview of that reviewer para makapag decide ka:

  2. Hi!

Pwede na bang mag submit ng application form, pero yung form sa site ng UP is for SY 2013-2014 pa. Thank you!

  3. To Crammer: I visited the College two weeks ago, sabi saken magiging available ang form at submission starting first week of August.

To Mirasol & Zen: I also bought that LAE reviewer kaso hindi ko alam kung magiging available pa para makabili ang iba kase limited copies lang daw talaga. This is going to be my 2nd UPLAE and I can say na ang style of quesitons sa reviewer is almost the same as that on the actual UPLAE.

  4. @Jeff B. Thank you po for affirming that the UP LAE Reviewer ad is authentic. Nagdadalawang isip po kasi akong bumili baka po kasi eh, peke taga-probinsya pa naman ako. 😀 God bless po sa pangalawa nyong try. Sana makapasa tayo!

  5. @Jeff B. – Thank you!I check UP’s site everyday hoping na may form na. Till now wala pa din. Oh well, di pa naman tapos first week of August!:)

  6. Thanks, Jeff B, for your book review. I find that UP LAE reviewer interesting. I texted the guy and was told that tomorrow it will be delivered via LBC. Im so excited. This is also going to be my 2nd take if ever. My first LAE experience was a mental tutor. Last year po yun. Sobrang hirap talaga. Grabeh. Nakakaiyak nga e. Kung alam kong ganun pala kahirap, I should have prepared better. Buti na lang may chance pa this year to take the aptitude exam. Hopefully, makapasa na. To me kase, it’s UP or nothing. UP kase ako since kinder. Kaya nalungkot ako ng d ako nakapasa last year. But I have learned to move on. This time, I have to prepare ng sobra talaga. Buti na lang may mga ganitong reviwer na. Thanks!

  7. I also took the test last year and I have to agree with Manuel–it was mental torture. I thought I was okay but after 5 years of working I realized I am not as good as I was on taking exams. I am thinking of taking it again but this time I need to be prepared. The reviewer mentioned above might come in handy.

BTW, forms are now available in UP website. Goodluck everyone.

  8. Hi, I just want to ask ilan usually ang percentage ng pumapasa sa LAE? Also, may advantage ba kung sa UP kinuha ang pre-law course?

    1. Jun, the “passing percentage” should not be your immediate concern. During our time, more than 5,000 took the LAE. But UP Law does not deal with percentage; it looks only at the QUOTA. Only 150 to 200 freshmen. If you don’t land on top of that quota, even if you “passed” the LAE, you still can’t enter UPLaw. Good luck.

  9. Hello.
When I scanned my TOR, I only have 9 units in English and 6 units in History and Economics w/ Agrarian Reform. I’m from College of Teacher Education in Cebu Normal University major in Mathematics. How can I apply for UPLAE? Please give me any idea.

  10. I am planning to take the University of the Philippines Law Aptitude Examination this year 2014, and am now declaring with God that my degree ( Bachelor of Secondary Education) will soon end by May 2014. I am thinking of the possibilities of entering into a law school- to fructify my career in the future- fulfilling my dream to be icon the lawyer in the Philippines, and i think UP College of Law will carry me to that raison d’etre. But I am afraid because i might not pass the exam, but can you help me by giving me enough information or tips in taking the exam? please help me encourage my self. please….
