In previous years:

The University of the Philippines (U.P.) College of Law has announced the holding of the Law Aptitude Examination (LAE) for academic year 2008-2009. The LAE is the entrance exam for the UPLaw.

The LAE is scheduled on 25 November 2007 (Sunday, 7:30 a.m.), with test centers in UP Diliman, UP Cebu, UP Mindanao (Davao City) and UP Baguio.

Anyone planning to enter the U.P. College of Law, who has finished or is finishing at least a bachelor’s degree in the arts or sciences from a recognized college or university, is qualified to take the examination upon prior application and proper identification and registration. An applicant can take LAE a maximum of three (3) times effective SY 2007-2008.

Applicants with yearly gross family income of P100,000.00 or less are exempted from payment of testing fee.

The last day of filing of application forms is on 16 November 2007 (without fine) or 23 November 2007 (with fine). Click here to download the application form.

Update (22 January 2008): I heard that the LAE results were released today. Here’s the UNOFFICIAL list, courtesy of Jester (will still have to verify the list tomorrow). Please CROSS-CHECK with the official list posted at the UP College of Law. Please note that the written exam is only the first part of the selection process. There are 301 who passed the written exam. The second phase is the panel interview (schedules will be announced later by UPLaw).

Update (9 April 2008): The official list of those who made it through LAE and are qualified to enroll as first year students at the UP College of Law for the SY 2008-2009 is posted in the UPLaw official website. First part is here and the second part is here.

  14. what’s with Malcolm or LAE or UP Law? Ateneo and San Beda routinely beats this monster percentage-wise on BAR passers, and most recently, ALS has been gaining on the topnotcher’s list. Soon it may even surpass UP. But what’s with Malcolm? And what’s with me?
